 Reliance Industries Limited and Rolls-Royce have announced their strategic intent to partner on the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of an indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft programme. The collaboration aims to create a sovereign propulsion capability for the fifth generation fighter jet.

The companies will explore forming a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India as a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technology. Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance, said the partnership would combine Rolls-Royce’s expertise with Reliance’s manufacturing and execution strengths to develop an enduring national capability.
