Swiggy’s quick-commerce platform, Instamart, has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch India’s first on-demand doorstep delivery service for LPG cylinders. The service operates as a pilot program in Bengaluru before expanding to other urban centers across the country.

The service, announced on July 16, will initially be rolled out as a pilot in Bengaluru, allowing customers to order 5-kg and 10-kg LPG cylinders through the Instamart app without requiring an existing HP Gas connection.
Pilot Begins in Bengaluru
The pilot service will initially be available in Bengaluru before being expanded to other cities based on customer response and operational experience. Customers will be able to order HPCL's newly launched 10-kg HP Navya composite LPG cylinder and the 5-kg metal LPG cylinder through Instamart. The HP Navya cylinder is lighter than conventional cylinders, corrosion-resistant and features a translucent body that allows users to check the remaining gas level.

How to Order LPG Cylinder on Instamart
Customers can order an LPG cylinder by following these steps:
1. Open the Swiggy app and select Instamart.
2. Search for HP Gas or LPG cylinder.
3. Choose between the available 5-kg or 10-kg HP Navya composite cylinder.
4. Add the cylinder to the cart and complete the payment.
5. The cylinder will be delivered to the customer's doorstep through Instamart's delivery network.
No Existing LPG Connection Required
One of the key features of the service is that customers do not need an existing HP Gas domestic connection to purchase these cylinders.
The offering is expected to benefit students, working professionals, tenants and smaller households looking for flexible, on-demand cooking gas solutions. Pricing details have not yet been announced by the companies.
Expanding Quick-Commerce Beyond Groceries
The partnership marks Swiggy Instamart's entry into the essential utilities segment, extending its quick-commerce offerings beyond groceries, medicines and household products.
