Several consumers have raised serious concerns regarding the quality and safety of products sold under Swiggy Instamart's private-label brand, Noice, after sharing photographic and video evidence on social media alleging instances of insects in flour, worms in chocolates, and mould inside packaged cakes. The widely shared grievances have intensified an ongoing public debate concerning food safety standards, rigorous quality control, and platform accountability within India's rapidly expanding quick-commerce sector.

Allegations Involve Contaminated Staples and Confectionery

In one prominent social media post, a customer shared video footage claiming to find flies inside a sealed packet of freshly ground atta ordered via Swiggy Instamart, reports IANS. The user stated that this was not an isolated quality issue involving Noice-branded goods and urged fellow shoppers to exercise caution. Why a Delhi Consumer Panel Ordered Swiggy and a Restaurant To Pay INR 1 Lakh to Customer.

According to the complaint, the insects were visible inside the unopened packaging immediately following delivery. “This is not the first time I am seeing issues with NOICE brand products ordered from SWIGGY,” the customer wrote. In a separate incident, another user posted a photograph showing a worm inside a Noice French Chocolate Rocher. Although customer support promptly processed a refund, the buyer expressed frustration given the product's positioning as a premium couverture chocolate item containing cocoa butter. "Here is one of the worms in the chocolate. I did reach out to the customer care and they initiated the refund. But couverure chocolate is supposed to be high quality with coco butter, but didn't expect this," the user stated.

Mouldy Cakes and Broader Supply-Chain Scrutiny

Additional complaints highlighted a Noice-branded cake ordered through the platform. The customer alleged that the cake contained mould despite being marketed as a healthier alternative featuring clean ingredients, no palm oil, and better overall quality standards. The buyer noted that a portion of the cake had already been consumed before the contamination was noticed, triggering severe anxiety over potential health implications. Expired Food, Cockroaches Found: Hyderabad Suspends FSSAI Licences of Swiggy, Flipkart, Zepto Stores.

While impacted consumers acknowledged that customer service representatives successfully issued refunds for their damaged goods, many questioned whether sufficient preventive safeguards and warehouse inspection procedures are in place to stop similar safety lapses from recurring. The incidents have sparked widespread discussions online regarding hygiene practices, inventory storage protocols, and quality assurance mechanisms across quick-commerce delivery networks. Swiggy did not respond to media inquiries or public allegations at the time of publication.
