Social media influencer and "Kacha Badam" fame Anjali Arora finds herself embroiled in a fresh controversy, as organisers of a recent Dandiya event in Kanpur have sent her a legal notice demanding INR 1.20 Crore in damages and a public apology. The dispute stems from an event held on October 15, 2026, which the organisers claim was disrupted by Arora's alleged unprofessionalism and subsequent comments. Anjali Arora Viral Video: Was ‘Ramayan’ Actress Furious at DJ for Playing ‘Kacha Badam’ Song at Kanpur Event?.

Anjali Arora Receives Defamation Notice from Kanpur Event Organisers

According to a report by Amar Ujala, the legal notice, issued on October 23, 2026, by advocate Karim Ahmed Siddiqui on behalf of Ashish Kumar, who managed marketing for the 'Nagada Night' Dandiya event, targets Anjali Arora and her manager Preeti Dubey. The organisers, including Anubhav Raj and Ashish Gupta, accuse Arora of causing significant financial loss amounting to INR 20 Lakh and defaming them, for which they are seeking INR 1 Crore. They allege that Arora arrived late to the event at Lajpat Bhawan Lawn in Kanpur, appearing on stage around 9:45 PM instead of the scheduled 9 PM, leaving limited time before the 10 PM curfew.

Furthermore, the organisers claim that Anjali Arora objected to the DJ playing her viral song 'Kacha Badam' during the event, which led to a disagreement. They also stated that a final payment of INR 75,000 was withheld as a security measure, intended to be released upon her arrival, and accused her team of poor coordination and demanding full payment upfront. A key point of contention is also the alleged "abusive comments" Arora made about the people of Kanpur, which the organisers believe further damaged their reputation.

Anjali Arora's Counter-Allegations and Safety Concerns

In response to the escalating controversy, Anjali Arora has vehemently denied the allegations, specifically refuting claims that she was upset about 'Kacha Badam' being played. In a statement reported by the Free Press Journal on October 19, 2026, Arora clarified that the song is integral to her identity and has garnered her immense love from fans. She asserted that her remarks were directed at individuals who allegedly mistreated her, not the entire city of Kanpur, and apologised to her fans for any misunderstanding.

Arora has raised serious safety concerns regarding her experience in Kanpur. She claimed that upon her arrival, the car sent to pick her up already had three men inside. At the hotel, she alleged that approximately 25 people accompanied her to her room, and men repeatedly entered her room along with a waiter when she ordered food. She further stated that her room's doorbell was constantly rung every 10 minutes, making her feel unsafe. Anjali Arora has challenged the organisers to provide evidence to support their accusations and confirmed that her legal team is actively working on the matter. Did Anjali Arora’s ‘Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha’ Producer Hint at ‘Ramayana’ Team Behind Negative PR Campaign?.

The legal notice gives Anjali Arora and her manager 15 days to comply with the demands, including the payment of INR 1.20 Crore and a public apology, failing which legal action will be pursued.
