Jodhpur Court (in Rajasthan), on Monday, acquitted Bharat actor Salman Khan in a fake affidavit case related to the blackbuck poaching case. Reportedly, the actor, in the blackbuck poaching case, had submitted an alleged fake affidavit stating that he has lost the licence documents of his weapons, while the licence was sent for renewal. However, defending his client, Defence Counsel Hastimal Saraswat argued that Salman's intention wasn't to submit a false affidavit and it was a bonafide mistake. Salman's lawyer further added that the licence was missing after the court demanded him to deposit the same during the trial.  Blackbuck Poaching Case: Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam Kothari, Tabu Issued Fresh Notice by Rajasthan HC Over Their Acquittal

Tribune quoted Saraswat as saying, "Hence it is not expedient in the interest of justice to proceed against Salman as it is a bonafide mistake of his client. Licence was submitted to the Police Commissioner in Mumbai, and Deputy Commissioner of Police has made the statement in the court also."

An hour ago, ANI's official Twitter handle tweeted, "Jodhpur Court acquits Salman Khan in case against him for submitting fake affidavit in the blackbuck poaching case that he lost the licence documents of his weapons, though the licence were sent for renewal. Last month, the Rajasthan High Court had sent fresh notices to Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Dushyant Singh on a plea filed by the government, challenging their acquittal by a Chief Judicial Magistrate or district court in a case of hunting two blackbucks in 1998.
