‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Dubbed Versions Cleared by CBFC Amid Delay, Release Set for THIS Date
The South Indian dubbed versions of Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' have officially received 'A' certification from the CBFC and are set to release soon, following technical delays. The Aditya Dhar directorial made a grand release in the theatres worldwide on March 19, 2026.
The much-anticipated South Indian dubbed versions of Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge have been cleared for release by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) following a brief delay. While the Hindi original premiered on schedule on March 19, 2026, the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions faced unexpected hurdles involving final technical delivery and certification. With the "A" certificate now secured, the film is set to expand its pan-India footprint starting this weekend. ‘Dhurandhar 2’: Is Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Banned in Middle East Countries?.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ Dubbed Versions Gets CBFC Clearance
Dhurandhar 2 Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions cleared by CBFC
The CBFC officially granted clearance for the regional dubbed versions on March 19, 2026. According to the official CBFC website, the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions carry a certified runtime of approximately 231 minutes (3 hours and 51 minutes), making them slightly longer than the 229-minute Hindi cut.
The website also lists the official synopsis for the sequel, which reads “After the death of Rehman Dakait, Indian Agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi A.K.A Hamza Ali Mazari begins plotting his rise in the gangster-terror-political network of Pakistan in order to bring India's enemies to justice.”
The delay in these versions was reportedly due to a last-minute rush to complete the final sound mixing and dubbing. While the Hindi prints were delivered just in time for March 18 previews, the South Indian versions were not ready, leading to widespread ticket refunds in cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi earlier this week.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ Regional release set for March 21
Following the successful certification, distributors have confirmed that the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam dubbed versions will officially hit screens on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Some theatres in major circuits are expected to begin screenings as early as Friday evening to capitalise on the massive momentum.
Advance bookings have already reopened on major platforms. However, the Kannada version is reportedly still awaiting its final certificate, and its specific release date remains unconfirmed.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Box Office
Despite the regional hiccups, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has already established itself as a historic success. The film reportedly earned INR 240 crore worldwide on its opening day, breaking several records held by previous Indian blockbusters.
The sequel follows Ranveer Singh’s character as he infiltrates the gritty underworld of Karachi to dismantle terror networks. The film features a high-profile ensemble cast, including R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Sparks Controversy; Maulanas Allege ‘Dhurandhar - The Revenge’ Promotes Division.
The release was strategically timed to coincide with a cluster of regional festivals, including Gudi Padwa and Ugadi. This timing is expected to drive significant footfall over the extended opening weekend, particularly now that the dubbed versions are available for non-Hindi speaking audiences.
