Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy is having a good run at the box office. The rap drama, which is directed by Zoya Akhtar, may not surpass the Rs 150 crore mark in India but the film could very well end its run at around Rs 140 crore which is really good considering it has been made on a reported budget of Rs 40 crore. After generating curiosity amongst the masses and good buzz, the film released on February 14 and did exceptionally well on day 1. Over the first weekend, Ranveer starrer performed even better and ended up entering Rs 100 crore club in its extended first week itself. Currently, the film is in its second week and surprisingly it's holding up well especially at multiplexes. Fim trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures. He wrote, "#GullyBoy biz is clearly divided... Rock-steady at premium multiplexes/metros... Disappointing in mass belt/single screens... [Week 2] Fri 3.90 cr, Sat 7.05 cr, Sun 7.10 cr, Mon 2.45 cr, Tue 2.30 cr, Wed 2.10 cr, Thu 1.90 cr. At the worldwide box office, Gully Boy has already crossed the Rs 200 crore mark which is also commendable and proves that the film has been appreciated by the global audience too. Apart from Ranveer and Alia, the also Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Vijay Raaz in important roles.
