Vidyut Jammwal's film Junglee is currently struggling to stay afloat at the box office in India. Directed by Hollywood filmmaker Chuck Russell, the action adventure movie opened to not-so-great reviews on March 29 and got off to a slow start. Though the film witnessed a spike in its collection over the first weekend, Junglee continued to perform ordinarily on the weekdays. In fact, the film was holding up well at the mass circuits but over the second weekend, Vidyut starrer fell flat at the ticket windows. And now, it won't be long before it ends its theatrical run at the domestic box office. Junglee Box Office Collection Day 7: Vidyut Jammwal Starrer Does Well in Mass Circuits, Rakes in Rs 21.20 Crore
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and wrote, "#Junglee crashes... Decline in Weekend 2 [vis-à-vis Weekend 1]: 85.56%... However, the controlled costs and recoveries from non-theatrical avenues have helped recover the budget... [Week 2] Fri 40 lakhs, Sat 65 lakhs, Sun 95 lakhs. Total: ₹ 23.20 cr. India biz."
He also tweeted, "#Junglee biz at a glance...Week 1: ₹ 21.20 cr. Weekend 2: ₹ 2 cr. Total: ₹ 23.20 cr. India biz." Apart from Junglee, Salman Khan's production venture Notebook also released on March 29. Starring Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl in the lead, the film received a lukewarm response from the critics and fared poorly at the box office. Junglee Box Office Collection Day 6: Vidyut Jammwal's Action Adventure Film Mints Rs 19.70 Crore
Coming back to Junglee, the film also stars Pooja Sawant and Asha Bhat in the lead roles alongside Vidyut Jammwal. While the B-town hunk's latest release has turned out to be a big disappointment, he has few more films lined up for this year which could help him redeem himself at the box office.
