‘Queen 2’ in Legal Trouble?
According to a Mid-Day report, Phantom Studios has accused the makers of 'Queen 2' of proceeding with the sequel without proper authorisation, branding it an 'unauthorised sequel' to the critically acclaimed original. The production house asserts that it holds 50 per cent of the intellectual property rights to 'Queen,' including the crucial rights to produce sequels.
Sources indicate that Phantom Studios had initiated discussions and issued a public notice in April, attempting to resolve the matter outside of court. However, with no settlement reached and news surfacing that 'Queen 2' had completed filming, the studio opted for legal action by approaching the Bombay High Court. As of now, JioStar and filmmaker Vikas Bahl, who is directing 'Queen 2,' have not publicly commented on the allegations.
