Ramya Reviews ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’; Kannada Actress Calls Ranveer Singh Starrer ‘Endurance Test’, Advises Skipping Theatres (View Post)
Kannada actress Ramya has sparked social media debate by labeling Ranveer Singh’s box-office hit 'Dhurandhar 2' an 'endurance test' and 'propaganda' in a viral Instagram review. While the action sequel has already surpassed INR 100 crore mark, the former MP criticised its four-hour runtime and urged fans to wait for its OTT release instead of visiting theaters.
Kannada actress and politician Ramya, also known as Divya Spandana, has sparked a social media debate following her critical review of the newly released action thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. Directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, the film has dominated the box office since its release on March 19, 2026, surpassing ₹100 crore on its opening day. However, while many industry peers have lauded the sequel, Ramya offered a starkly different perspective, labelling the nearly four-hour-long espionage drama an "endurance test." ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Twitter Review: Ranveer Singh an Acting Maestro As Sher-E-Baloch in Aditya Dhar’s Sequel; Fans Call Movie ‘Lethal, Unapologetic Cinema’
'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' Review By Kannada Actress- Politician Ramya
Taking to her Instagram story, the former Member of Parliament did not mince words regarding the film’s length and narrative style. Despite the high-octane action and the star-studded cast, which includes Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, Ramya suggested that the film failed to maintain the technical standards set by its predecessor.
In a detailed critique shared on Friday (March 20), she described the viewing experience as mentally exhausting. "Just watched Dhurandhar 2 and wow! What a masterclass in how to turn something promising into an endurance test," Ramya wrote. "It’s like reading a textbook of the most boring subject with never-ending chapters, and at some point, your brain just gives up and starts laughing out of sheer despair."
The actress further advised her followers to skip the theatrical experience, suggesting that the film’s pacing makes it more suitable for a home viewing on OTT platforms. "Please don’t waste your time and money in the theater. This is a movie to be watched on an OTT streaming platform," she added, citing issues with the direction, dialogue, and editing.
Ramya's Critical Take on Performance and Themes
Ramya’s review also took aim at the lead actor and the director’s thematic choices. While Ranveer Singh has received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of the double-agent Hamza/Jaskirat Singh Rangi, Ramya felt the performance missed the mark this time, stating, "Ranveer... you can do so much better."
She also addressed the film’s heavy leanings into political themes, which have been a point of discussion among critics since the first instalment. Directing her comments toward the filmmaker, she noted, "Aditya Dhar... you need to come out of nationalism and propaganda."

The critique comes at a time when Dhurandhar 2 is breaking multiple records. The film, which serves as the final instalment of a duology, has already crossed the INR 180 crore mark domestically within two days. It follows the journey of an Indian undercover agent navigating the underworld of Karachi, culminating in a revenge arc tied to the 26/11 attacks. Who Is ‘Bade Sahab’ in ‘Dhurandhar 2’?
