The first song from the upcoming film, Student of the Year 2, released a couple of days back. The dance number, titled The Jawaani Song, was a recreation of the hit track, Yeh Jawaai Hai Deewani, that came out in 1972. The new song featured Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria, Ananya Pandey and Aditya Seal shaking a leg, while the original number had Randhir Kapoor flashing his charming smile on the screen. The rehashed version was not appreciated by the internet much, though. But Randhir says that there is nothing wrong in remaking songs and quite liked The Jawaani Song.

While talking to mid-day, Randhir, 72, said, "I feel there is no harm in recreating songs. The original track came out four decades ago. Many youngsters were not aware of the song, but today, everyone knows it because of the remix,"

Randhir believes that after listening to the remixed track, youngsters "went back and searched for the original song on the Internet". Student of the Year 2 New Picture: Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey Will Sway to New Song Mumbai Dilli Ki Kudiyaan Tomorrow.

Though, Randhir admitted that he has not seen the music video of the new number. "...But I have heard it; it has a nice tune. Also, Karan has officially bought the rights of the number. So, his intentions are honest," he concluded.

That certainly is a relief for the makers of Student of the Year 2 and The Jawaani Song after the online criticism they have received. The movie, directed by Punit Malhotra, is slated to release on May 10. Actors from the prequel - Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt - are expected to reprise their roles for cameo appearances.
