The internal inquiry began in October 2025 after a formal complaint was submitted to B62 Studios, a production house led by filmmaker Aditya Dhar and producer Lokesh Dhar.

According to sources speaking to Mid-Day, the complaint immediately prompted the production house to activate its Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee. “Given the seriousness of the allegations and the company's strict stance against workplace harassment, the committee carried out a detailed inquiry,” a source told teh portal.

Following a detailed six-month investigation that concluded between March and April 2026, the committee sustained two major charges against Johray: sexual molestation and tampering with evidence. The findings of the internal probe were subsequently communicated to the complainant.

Details of the Alleged Incident

The incident reportedly took place on September 10, 2025. Johray allegedly invited the complainant, a resident of New Delhi, to a room at the Taj Hotel in Chandigarh under the pretext of a professional meeting.

The complainant stated that she began to feel unwell after consuming an alcoholic beverage prepared by Johray, leading to allegations of sexual harassment, physical assault, and wrongful confinement. She further alleged that an intoxicating substance had been mixed into her drink.

Criminal Charges and Legal Proceedings

Independent of the studio's internal probe, a formal criminal complaint was filed with the Chandigarh Police on April 20, 2026. Following a preliminary inquiry, authorities at the Sector-17 police station registered a First Information Report (FIR).

The FIR charges Johray under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 74, 79, 123, and 126(2). While police investigations remain ongoing, official records indicate that Johray has since secured bail as the legal process moves forward.

Film Credits Removed Amid Franchise Success

The fallout from the investigation has directly impacted Johray’s professional standing with the high-grossing Dhurandhar franchise starring Ranveer Singh.
