Karan Veer Mehra Shares Harrowing Details of Tiger Shroff Firing Incident
Karan Veer Mehra, known for his roles in shows like Pavitra Rishta, was just behind Tiger Shroff's BMW when the gunshots rang out. Speaking to NDTV shortly after the incident, Mehra described the initial confusion and subsequent panic that gripped the area. "My car was right behind, you know, by the time we left the gate, by the time my car reached, I just saw blood spots, and I got to know that Tiger's driver had been shot," Mehra revealed.
He further elaborated on the chaotic scene, noting that many people initially mistook the gunshots for celebratory fireworks from a nearby birthday party. "There were kids right there, celebrating a birthday party; everybody ran helter-skelter," he stated, highlighting the sudden shift from festive cheer to widespread fear. Mehra, who plays football with Shroff regularly, confirmed he did not see the attackers but emphasised the trauma of the event. "It's very sad to see this happen to him, and I know his family also very well. It's actually traumatising for me also to see Tiger and his family go through this," he added. It was only when fans began shouting about "real gunshots" that the gravity of the situation became clear, prompting security to act and alert the police.
Driver Injured, Police Investigation Underway
In the attack, Tiger Shroff's driver, identified as Firdaus, sustained a gunshot injury to his left arm and was immediately hospitalised. Another individual, Mr Chauhan, was also injured. Ballistic reports later confirmed that the bullets were fired from close range.
The Mumbai Police have swiftly launched a massive investigation into the incident. An FIR has been registered under Sections 107, 109(1), 116 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mohit Garg confirmed that around 15 special police teams have been formed to track down the culprits. Authorities are meticulously scanning CCTV footage from the vicinity, which has already captured images of two suspected shooters. One person has reportedly been taken in for questioning.
Adding a sinister twist to the case, the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has purportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. An audio clip attributed to a member of the gang has surfaced, not only taking credit for the shooting but also issuing fresh threats against other industry figures, particularly those working with Salman Khan. Police are currently working to verify the authenticity of this claim. Investigators suspect the assailants may have conducted a prior recce, as Shroff is known to play football at Pushpa Park on Sundays.
