The countdown to Christmas has begun! While most of you have been looking forward all December to spend time with the family, some have been waiting for days for this opportunity to escape all other humans and curl up on the sofa watching their favourite movies on their favourite screen - Netflix. We all know, when a Netflix binge takes over, there's not much that any of us can do about it, especially when the digital platform has got into the holiday spirit with a host of new Christmas movies. Yes, you read that right. A couple of new films have joined a host of classic Christmas flicks already available to watch on the digital platform. Christmas 2018 Recipes: From Roasted Chicken to Mashed Potato, 5 Popular Traditional Dishes to Prepare This Holiday Season

Aren't Christmas movies one of the best parts of the holidays? From new films like The Princess Switch to festive classics like Home Alone, here's a look at what you could stream this Christmas? Yes, there are tons of Christmas movies out there, but here are my favorite 5 that you may binge watch this weekend.

Take a look!

Home Alone

This is a classic Christmas movie that has been warming the hearts of audiences since its release in 1990. Helmed by Chris Columbus, this American Christmas comedy film is about an eight-year-old troublemaker, who must protect his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation. Written and bankrolled by John Hughes, the film stars Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern in pivotal roles.

A Christmas Prince

Alex Zamm's 2017 film A Christmas Prince is one such movie that brings one of the true meanings to Christmas and family. It’s about finding what is lost through the everyday stress. It’s a story about happy endings and true love, with a twist!

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding

Helmed by John Schultz, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding, is a follow-up to A Christmas Prince with the perfect title. The film stars Rose McIver, Ben Lamb, Alice Krige in pivotal roles. While the part one (A Christmas Prince) was more about Amber (played by Rose) and Richard (played by Ben), this movie was not entirely focused on just them, but rather focused on how Amber started learning her ways through royal life. It's a great watch!

The Princess Switch

The Princess Switch is about two girls - a down-to-earth Chicago baker and a soon-to-be princess, who discovers that they look alike, they hatch a Christmas time plan to trade places. The film is frothy fun for families looking for escapist holiday fare. It's harmless entertainment in the mold of a Hallmark Channel movie. Helmed by Mike Rohl, the film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Sam Palladio, Nick Sagar, Alexa Adeosun in pivotal roles.

The Christmas Chronicles

Helmed by Clay Kaytis, The Christmas Chronicles is the story of a sister and brother, Kate and Teddy Pierce, whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about. The film stars Kurt Russell, Judah Lewis, Darby Camp, Lamorne Morris, and with Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Oliver Hudson in pivotal roles.

I am sure, the movies that we have listed above will fill the room with Christmas spirit and bring so much joy to all who watch, as it's one time when we could gather around the television with our families and have a great time. So, how do you plan to watch these films? Let us  know in the comment section below. Watch this space for further updates.
