Brace yourselves for the Joker is set to come over to put a smile on your face! Filmmaker Todd Philips just revealed the first poster of Joaquin Phoenix in and as Joker. Having playing Batman's arch nemesis in various standalone films of Batman, Joker has finally managed to get a film of his own. Basically, the film is more like an origin kind where the filmmaker showcases the possible transformation of Joker from a Gotham citizen to it's worst enemy. Played by Joaquin, the first poster has been released with an intimation that the teaser-trailer of Joker will be out on April 4.

Director Todd Philips has received a lot of positive comments on his Instagram ever since he released the first poster. It has Joaquin dressed up as the feared clown with a rather austere background. Joker is seen looking up into oblivion with probably a smile on his face? While we're on the fence about the smile, we can tell for sure that he has put on a happy face to cloak his true intentions.

The Clown Prince Of Crime sure seems to pique our interest with the latest poster. Last year during the filming of Joker, a video featuring Joaquin play his part in the film surfaced. Sure, it was a leaked clip but the video was enough for us to recognise that Phoenix will do just as much justice to Heath Ledger, who became a phenomenon for his performance as Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Anyway, check out the poster below.

The film is produced by Martin Scorsese. Earlier the makers wanted to rope in Jared Leto to reprise his role as Joker (he played the part in Suicide Squad). However, over a difference of opinion, they went for Joaquin Phoenix instead. Reports further suggest that the standalone Joker film is inspired by Scorsese's The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver. The film also stars Robert De Niro as a supporting lead and is set to release on October 4.
