Famous Irish rock band U2 had to cancel their performance in Berlin as their lead singer Bono lost his voice completely. According to reports, Bono "suffered a complete loss of voice". The band members said that they will keep their fans informed about where another concert would be arranged. The 58-year-old singer was only 20 minutes into singing when he lost his voice.  Bono was singing 'Red Flag Day' when he stopped and immediately the band stopped playing any musical instruments. U2 is on a tour until November 10 is supposed to perform September 4 at Cologne in Germany.

A statement by band members Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen and The Edge seeking medical advice read, "We don't know what has happened and we're taking medical advice. We're so sorry for tonight's cancellation. Bono was in great form and great voice prior to the show and we were all looking forward to the second night in Berlin, but after a few songs, he suffered a complete loss of voice."

They also thanked fans for patience in the statement adding, "As always, we appreciate our audience’s understanding and all our fans' support in Berlin and those who travelled from afar. We will update you very soon."

The Mercedes Benz Arena, where U2 performed August 31 and September 1 as part of its eXPERIENCE & iNNOCENCE tour took to Twitter wishing the singer a speedy recovery. They tweeted saying, "Get well soon, Bono".  Their fan website had tweeted during the show saying that the singer said the smoke machines had affected his voice. Their tweet read, "Bono said that he's not quite sure what's happened at the end of Red Flag Day. He's clearing his throat. I think it’s the smoke. I can promise you I have not been talking, but this is like a giant cigar – I’ve lost my voice and I don’t know what to do."
