In a recent interview on a Pinkvilla podcast, Mahvash firmly denied ever being romantically involved with the Indian spinner. She emphasised that the public often misinterprets ordinary situations when it involves notable personalities.  "People have a habit of making a fuss over small things," Mahvash said. "It is not such a big deal when you go through it. Like two friends had an argument and they follow-unfollowed each other. And the matter ends there."

She further explained that strong friendships shouldn't be overshadowed by temporary disagreements, stating that when people are comfortable enough to "talk absolute nonsense" with each other, they should not hold long-term grudges. "I would always wish him all the best and my best wishes will always be with him. There's no such big deal in it," she added.

Addressing the origin of the dating rumours, Mahvash explained that she stepped in strictly as a support system during a challenging emotional period for Chahal following his divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma.  "No, that was never the case," Mahvash replied when asked if they were ever more than friends. "I have been a great friend to him. At that time, he needed a good friend. So we all were just focusing on him to get done with his IPL season."

Mahvash reiterated that she chose to stand by the cricketer without worrying about public perception or media narratives. Looking ahead, she maintained that the brief social media distance has not permanently altered their dynamic.  "Henceforth also, we'll always meet the way we met earlier. I will fearlessly stand by him," she concluded.
