Sonu Nigam has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. Bollywood's one of the favourite voices is right now not really safe, told the Maharashtra State Intelligence Department. As per the reports in Indiatoday, the department issued a warning to the singer that he has a threat from terrorist outfit operating from Pakistan. Not only Nigam but two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs Ram Kadam and Ashish Shelar too got the same advisory.

The ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ singer was earlier pulled into the controversy after his statements regarding the use of loud speakers during azaan and prayers at mosques. This has apparently triggered the threats against Sonu. Post this controversy, he had even quit the micro blogging site Twitter.

In a series of tweets, Sonu had stated, “I’m not a Muslim, and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India? And by the way, Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam...Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison? I don’t believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity to wake up people who don’t follow the religion.” Looks like even after several months, the issue is not yet ready to mellow down for Mr Nigam.
