Ashwini Gowda on Darshan Entering Politics
When asked by regional media to identify a Kannada cinema figure who could replicate the political trajectory of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, Gowda identified Darshan as a suitable choice for the state.
Addressing the distinct nature of both professions, Gowda emphasised that political life requires dedicated commitment from film industry figures.
"Cinema and politics are different. If someone from the film industry has the interest and is willing to leave everything behind to enter politics, they should do it. I feel Darshan would be a good choice if he enters politics. I wish him all the best," Gowda said.
Gowda also commended Kannada activist T Narayana Gowda, noting that he ranks among the prominent regional leaders who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding Karnataka's land, language, and culture.

Responding to inquiries regarding her own potential candidacy in the 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections, Gowda indicated that she has not made any definitive commitment, choosing instead to keep her options open.
"People often ask whether I will join a political party and which party I will choose. Everything has its own time. If I am given an opportunity one day, I will take a decision then," she stated.
Gowda also reflected on her experience on Bigg Boss Kannada 12, clarifying that any on-screen rivalry with co-contestant Gilli remained strictly within the boundaries of the show.
"I genuinely wish him well. Bigg Boss was just a game. Why should I be upset that he won? I hope he has a bright future and acts in many good films," Gowda added.
