After the success of Keerthy Suresh and Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Mahanati, expect another big biopic based on a film personality's life in Telugu cinema. Nandamuri Balakrishna is producing a biopic based on his legendary father, the late actor-politician NT Rama Rao aka NTR. The biopic is being helmed by the popular Telugu director Krish, who is currently directing Kangana Ranaut in the Rani Laxmibai biopic, Manikarnika. Nandamuri Balakrishna, himself, will play his father in the film.

Now the latest development is that Vidya Balan has been roped in to play NTR's wife, Basavatarakam in the movie. Basavatarakam was the daughter of Rama Rao's maternal uncle whom he married in 1943. They had eight sons and four daughters, that include Nandamuri Balakrishna and Telugu superstar Jr NTR's Harikrishna.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Rana Daggubati and Bengali star Jisshu Sengupta are also a part of the film, playing  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the late film-maker LV Prasad. Speaking to the newspaper, Jisshu confirmed his involvement in the film. He revealed, "As a producer, LV Prasad ji’s films revolved around catastrophic romances with theatrical characters and memorable music. As an actor and director, he chose subjects that were emotional, dramatic and driven by performances. I have begun my prep for the film as Krish has given me a lot of content to browse through. This will be my first ever stint in the South industry and I’m quite excited and nervous at the same time.”

We are quite excited for this one!
