Sunny Leone has talked about sexual harassment in the past. But again now the Baby Doll opened up about her #MeToo moment. That’s not all; the actress also fought it like a true hero. Sunny narrated this episode during her recent interview with Buzzfeed India. The actress said, “It was real. It was one of the first shoots that I did. And I don’t want to say the person’s name... Because it was, I mean... I don’t feel like getting into a lawsuit with them.”

The actress continued, “It was difficult and it was hard to be that person who gives it back to them and feel horrible later because, that was one of the first... You know I had ever been on. And it was for a music video so I was like, ‘Oh wow! This is great; I’m shooting like a mainstream music video. Who knows where it can go...’ I was like 18 years old... When someone like that says something to you it’s like... You have to give it back.”

Sunny tackled this tough situation and attributes her reaction to the Punjabi genes. She said, “And the other half of the story is that I went to the producer and director and told them, ‘You guys need to get him the F off me otherwise I’m leaving and I know you guys need me because you’ve cast me as your lead and we’ve already started shooting so tell him to leave me alone.’ Not knowing the set etiquette, not knowing how to deal with the situation. Unfortunately the Punjabi side came out of me. It was very awkward after that.”

The actress Veeramadevi heroine also doled out some serious advice by citing personal instances, “I think each situation is different. A person that you meet is going to be different, so you’ve to handle it with right amount of care. You now there would be a lot of different people that I would meet, and they’d be like... ‘Wanna get together?’ I’d be like, “No way! But I’ll be your best wingman.” In the most indirect way of saying, ‘I’m unavailable.’ But it just depends upon how you’re treated at that moment.”

Sunny’s suggestion is that don’t take things lying down, she added, “Of course if that person is being a jerk then you should give it back to them. But if it is one of those, you know... Weird flirting situations, you as a woman need to gauge what you need to do.” Also read: Sunny Leone Was Offered a Part in Game of Thrones, but Then…

In the past we’ve had actresses like Swara Bhasker and Radhika Apte talk about sexual misconduct in the Indian film industry. And with Sunny Leone opening up about her #MeToo moment hopefully there will be more people who will stand up against such terrible behaviour.
