Deepika Singh Applies Lipstick to a Baby: 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' Actress Shares Video on Instagram, Netizens Question Her

When Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Deepika Singh posted an adorable video of her niece Yoshika, little did she know that it would stir a controversy online. On Sunday, the TV star shared a cute clip on Instagram where she shows her fans and followers how her brother-in-law’s daughter Yoshika refuses to eat the food offered to her but doesn’t throw any tantrums when Deepika applies lipstick to her.

The clip begins with Deepika dabbing some lipstick on Yoshika’s lips. The actress then tries to feed roti to her niece, who just like any other kid her age gives her family a hard time and doesn’t eat. Soon after, Deepika again applies the beauty product to the baby, who not only seems to be enjoying the attention but also poses for the camera. The 28-year-old actress captioned the video, “Girls loves lipstick more than their food. Yoshika is proving this 😜 . (sic)”

Deepika Singh’s actions garnered a diverse response on social media. A section of her admirers loved how endearing the video is and described it as 'cute' and 'beautiful'. A user also commented how the clip had made his day.

Several users, however, raised concerns over the safety of the little girl and criticised the actress for using make-up on the toddler. Many netizens schooled her on how harmful the lipstick could be for the child and called her out for the act and termed it ‘wrong’ and ‘horrible’.

Noticing the backlash coming her way, Deepika decided to respond to the issues raised and defended herself saying that the lipstick was ‘organic’ and ‘100% pure’. She gave a befitting reply to a troll and said, “Mind your language. First discover peace in your life. Never judge ppl by seeing them in just 33 seconds. You’re single & I’m a mother & how much I take care of my kids, I needn’t to tell you. Don’t dare to mess with me regarding the safety of my kids. (sic)”
