Social media influencer Saba Ibrahim, sister of actor Shoaib Ibrahim and sister-in-law of actress Dipika Kakar, has announced the temporary closure of her Mumbai-based restaurant, Khushamadeed. The decision, shared via a recent YouTube vlog, comes as the establishment grapples with a severe shortage of commercial LPG cylinders and internal maintenance issues that have impacted daily operations. Saba Ibrahim Shuts Down Mumbai Restaurant Due to Cylinder Issue
In a detailed video shared with her 3.7 million subscribers, Saba and her husband, Khalid Niaz (Sunny), explained that the restaurant’s kitchen has become increasingly difficult to run. The ongoing LPG shortage in the region has left the business without a steady supply of fuel, a problem reportedly shared by several neighbouring establishments.
"It’s very sad news, but we have to shut down our restaurant," Khalid stated in the vlog. "We are struggling to get cylinders; very few of them are reaching us. We are not getting cylinders... everyone is facing this issue. The restaurants around us have also been shut for 2-3 days."
Renovation and Hygiene Standards
Beyond the fuel crisis, the couple revealed that a flaw in the restaurant’s original interior design led to hygiene concerns. Saba admitted that a gap left between the wall and wooden mouldings by a previous designer allowed pests to enter the premises.
Addressing the mistake, Saba said, "When you start something new, you do make mistakes. In order to make the space look nice, [the designer] made moulding on a wooden ply and left a gap between that and the wall. Now, due to that, rats are coming into the restaurant."She added that upon seeing the issue, Khalid insisted on a 15-to-20-day shutdown to completely redesign the interior and ensure high hygiene standards for their patrons.

The closure is expected to result in significant financial losses for the couple. However, Saba emphasised that maintaining their reputation and the quality of service is their top priority. "We have been contemplating this decision for a few days now, working on the finances," Saba shared. "We don’t want to get ourselves a bad reputation or cause any inconvenience to our customers. Shutting down the restaurant, we will face losses."The couple assured fans that they are not laying off their staff during the renovation, with some employees being temporarily relocated to help with other projects. Khushamadeed is expected to reopen in approximately three weeks with a fresh look and a resolved supply chain.
