And the makers of Sony TV's Indian Idol 11, have finally found their Anu Malik replacement in the form of singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya. The show that has seen 10 successful seasons and now the 11th season too has crossed all records in TRP charts, was recently in the news for its judge Anu Malik quitting over the mounting Me Too accusations on him. It can be recalled that it all started with singer Sona Mohapatra writing an open letter to Sony TV, rebuking them for hiring Anu Malik as the judge, despite the composer being accused of sexual misconduct. #MeToo: Anu Malik Steps Down From Indian Idol 11 After Sony TV Receives A Letter From National Commission For Women

A few days after the letter and subsequent backlash against Anu, he wrote an open letter where he stated that he was going to resort to legal action to clear his name. Soon after, Anu quit Indian Idol 11 and said that he will only return after clearing his name in all of the Me Too accusations filed against them.

And joining Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani will be Himesh Reshammiya. Himesh was previously seen judging another singing reality show on the same channel, Superstar Singer.

Says Himesh, "I was a part of Superstar Singer and now my journey continues on Indian Idol 11. Indian Idol is not only one of India’s longest-running singing reality shows but also one of the most iconic one! "From here on the responsibility only increases two-fold. I have been following this season and I must say that this year has seen phenomenal singers come forward, who I am sure will create ripples in the Indian music industry. In addition to being a platform for the best music, it is also an embodiment of ‘ Ek Desh Ek Awaz’ as it witnesses the support of the entire nation despite caste, creed or religion,” the singer concluded.
