The actor made his acting debut in year 2012 with Suvreen Guggal- Topper of The Year alongside Smriti Kalra and rose to prominence with Star Plus' Veer Ki Ardaas Veera. But, starring in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 as Anurag Basu would have boosted his career, however, Shivin had to let go of the opportunity owing to his his ailing father.

In a statement to the entertainment portal, Shivin revealed, "They had approached me earlier on for the role but at that time, I just couldn't due to my father's ill health, later the show got pushed it seems.
