The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has initiated the applications for January 2019 admission from this month onwards. As a significant improvement for the students, IGNOU has launched Bachelor’s in Commerce (B.Com) course with majors in Finance and Cost Accounting in collaboration with the Institute of Cost and Works and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The January 2019 batch will be the first one to study this new course. All the class 12th passed students who are interested in studying commerce stream can apply online at ignou.ac.in. IGNOU December TEE 2018 Admit Card Released Online. 

With the new programme, the student can simultaneously study B.Com with major in finance and the foundation or intermediate course with the ICAI. According to the university, this dual programme comprises of 104 credits, out of which 24 credits are from IGNOU, and 80 credits are part of ICAI CA Foundation and Intermediate course. After surpassing the ICAI course, 80 credits which are part of the course will be transferred to their major courses. This will allow students to get a dual degree. The interested students must note that the admission process will go on till January 15, 2019. IGNOU B.Com 2019 Admission Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have cleared their class 12 board examinations can apply for the course. Further, the candidates are required to register with the ICAI Foundation course. The students who have already cleared the ICAI’s CA Intermediate course are eligible for direct admission.

IGNOU is also known as People’s University for its wide range of courses. The University offers a vast array of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes through distance and open mode. Meanwhile, IGNOU released the final date sheet for December Term End Examination (TEE) 2018 which will begin from December 1 and will continue till December 31.
