The incident has come to light just days before the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination scheduled for June 21.
The candidate, Abdullah Mohammad Talib, discovered the discrepancy after downloading his admit card from the official NTA website. Instead of receiving a test centre in India, the admit card reportedly assigned him to an examination centre located in Abu Dhabi.

Student Unable to Travel Abroad
According to reports, Abdullah had applied for the examination from Nagpur and expected to be allotted a centre within the country. The issue became a matter of concern as the student does not possess a passport, making it impossible for him to travel overseas to appear for the examination. A screenshot of the admit card, which has since circulated on social media, showed an Indian school in Abu Dhabi listed as the examination venue.
NTA Attributes Issue to Technical Glitch
Following complaints from the student's family, the matter was brought to the attention of NTA officials. The agency reportedly acknowledged the error and said it was caused by a technical glitch during the allotment process. The incident has prompted fresh attention on the importance of verifying admit card details before the examination. Candidates have been advised to immediately report any discrepancies related to personal information, examination centres, photographs, signatures or other key details.
Re-NEET UG 2026 Exam on June 21
The Re-NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 21 in pen-and-paper mode. The test will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM across designated examination centres.
Candidates must carry their admit cards along with valid identity proof and other documents specified by NTA on the day of the examination.
