The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is conducting the examinations phase-wise to hire for the positions of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) and Technicians. Over 47 lakh candidates have applied in the examinations to get selected in what is termed as the world's largest recruitment drive. No cases of technical glitches have yet been reported from any of the examination centres. The Indian Railways have adopted strict measures to maintain the competitiveness of the exam. Despite continues monitoring, in the past one week, the Indore police have arrested two men for allegedly appearing as dummy candidates in the railway recruitment exam 2018. Nine Candidates Arrested for Fraud in Indian Army Recruitment Test 2018. 

Identified as Dhiraj Kumar (21 years) and Ranjit Prasad (22) are from Nalanda district of Bihar and have been arrested in connection with the ongoing RRB recruitment exams. Reportedly, Dhiraj was arrested on August 20 after he was found appearing for the exam in place of Abhimanyu Kumar at RRB exam centre at Islamia Karimiya College in Palasia area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Before that, the police officials detained Ranjit Prasad on August 14 from the same centre when he appeared in place of Santosh Kumar.

“A detailed probe is on to find out if there is any big racket behind this. We have also sent our team to Bihar to arrest the candidates for whom these accused were appearing in the examination,” Palasia Police station in-charge Ajit Singh Bais informed the media.

Meanwhile, the Indian Railways included equipment to detect Bluetooth (wireless) devices at the exam centres and also monitoring Google trends to know if anyone is searching for cheating tips. The first-stage online Computer-Based Test (CBT) has begun from August 9 and will continue till August 31 at various exam centres in India for ALP and Technician posts. After this, RRB will conduct exams for Group D posts in September, the schedule of which is yet to release.
