The All India Placement Committee (AIPC) has decided to impose a two-year period of "non-cooperation" against 22 companies, including Oracle, after the firms allegedly failed to honour more than 150 job offers made to students of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), according to Economic Times. The decision was finalised at an AIPC meeting held at IIT-Guwahati earlier this month.
Why Are IITs Taking Action Against 22 Companies?
The affected companies are accused of withdrawing or failing to honour job offers after students had already been selected through campus recruitment drives. Under the resolution, the IITs will communicate the decision to the companies by September 30. The action means the firms will not be allowed to participate in campus placement drives for the next two recruitment seasons. Is Oracle Among The Companies Facing Action?
Yes. Oracle is reportedly among the 22 companies facing the two-year "non-cooperation" period. The US technology major is said to have withdrawn around 40 offers made to students across IIT campuses. IIT-Guwahati Associate Professor John Jose told Economic Times that Oracle has not approached the premier institutes for recruitment drives so far this year.

Placement offices at individual IITs have been sharing the resumes of affected students with other recruiters to help them secure alternative opportunities.
