Vikram Dev University Postpones English Exam After Question Paper Surfaces on WhatsApp Hours Before Test
The Plus-III second-semester compulsory English examination at Odisha’s Vikram Dev University in Jeypore was postponed on September 19 after a question paper allegedly circulated on WhatsApp hours before the scheduled test. Cyber Police Complaint Filed
The university has filed a complaint with the Koraput Cyber Police Station to investigate how the question paper reached WhatsApp before the examination. Officials are examining how the circulated paper matched the original and who may have been involved in its circulation.

Utkal University Question Paper Leak Allegation
The Vikram Dev University incident comes a day after a question paper leak allegation surfaced at Odisha’s Utkal University. A Commerce question paper from the ongoing Plus-III second-semester examinations was allegedly circulated on social media before the scheduled test.
Utkal University subsequently filed a police complaint and launched an investigation into the allegation. The examinations began on September 12 across around 300 affiliated colleges. Under the university's examination procedure, sealed question papers are opened at examination centres only 30 minutes before the test.
Fresh Exam Date To Be Announced
Following the postponement, Vikram Dev University will prepare a fresh question paper for the compulsory English examination. The revised examination date and timing will be announced separately.
The university has advised students not to rely on unverified WhatsApp messages or rumours and to follow official university communications for updates.
