Amid the high political drama, the Supreme Court, today will resume its hearing on Congress' plea regarding Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision to invite the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form a government in Karnataka. The apex court will also hear senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani's petition to have an urgent hearing on the same issue.
Karnataka Assembly Elections Results were declared on May 15, but the drama and suspense is still not settling up. The high voltage political drama peaked on the May 16 mid-night when the Congress and JD(S) filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision of inviting BJP's leader B S Yeddyurappa for taking an oath on May 17. After Yeddyurappa sworn in as CM yesterday, Congress & JDS tried to unite their MLAs and shifted them out of Bangalore's Eagleton Resort, where they are holding up ever since the Karnataka got the hung assembly mandate.
Last night, Congress and JDS MLAs were denied permission to fly out of Bangalore by DGCA, as per reports. The latest report suggests that the MLAs are shifted to Hotel Park Hyderabad by road. Yesterday TMC clean swept the West Bengal panchayat polls. The party wins most of the Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti seats and Zila Parishad seats. The election for 31,802 Gram Panchayat seats, 6,123 Panchayat Samiti seats and 621 Zilla Parishad seats were held earlier this month.
