The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is set to conduct one of its largest recruitment drives in recent years, with over 81,000 vacancies to be filled during the financial year 2026-27. Additionally, 537 posts under the SI and ASI clerical cadre are also in progress. Several other roles including PAC Constable, Jail Warder, Radio Assistant Operator, Computer Operator Grade A, Special Security Force personnel, Mounted Police Constable, and Women Battalion positions will be notified in upcoming phases.

The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages to ensure fair and comprehensive evaluation. It begins with a Computer Based Test, which will be objective in nature and include subjects such as General Knowledge, Hindi, Reasoning, and Numerical Ability. Candidates applying for Sub Inspector roles will also be tested on Law and the Constitution.

Those who qualify the written exam will proceed to the Physical Standard Test, where measurements like height, chest, and weight will be checked. This is followed by the Physical Efficiency Test, which includes a running task. Male candidates must complete a 4.8 km run in 28 minutes, while female candidates are required to complete 2.4 km in 16 minutes.

Candidates who clear the physical stages will undergo document verification, followed by a medical examination to assess overall fitness, vision, and hearing.
