New Delhi, Jun 28: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will soon launch a new Moon mission to research untouched locations of lunar and find nuclear fuel called Helium-3. ISRO chairman K Sivan has reportedly confirmed that the agency will launch a lunar rover to travel to the untouched south side of the Moon.

The new Moon mission, which is expected to be worth 125 million dollars, include putting a space station into orbit as well as an Indian crew on the moon. According to Bloomberg, ISRO is likely to launch the mission in October. Helium-3 is a very important nuclear fuel which can be used for nuclear fusion without creating any radioactive waste.

China is the only nation which has launched a lander and a rover on Earth’s Moon in the 21st Century in 2013. Though Helium-3 is found on Earth as well and has been used for various purposes, it’s rare and very, very expensive.
