Security forces killed two terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama in an encounter on Thursday. A soldier was martyred in the gunbattle.
New Delhi, May 16: An encounter broke between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on Thursday. According to reports, two terrorists were holed up in Dalipora area. On receiving information, security forces launched a cordon and search operation during which they were fired upon. In retaliatory fire, two terrorists were gunned down. A soldier also lost his life in the encounter.
As far as the Lok Sabha election 2019 is concerned, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address three public meetings in Uttar Pradesh today. He will also address two rallies in West Bengal. The Election Commission has barred all political parties from carrying out campaigning from 10 pm onwards in the state in view of clashes between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) that resulted in violence and damage to a statue of iconic 19th century reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. Congress President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address public meetings in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He will also hold a roadshow in Bihar's Patna.
