New Delhi, May 22: A 30-year-old man allegedly hired two shooters to fire at him so that he could implicate a business rival but died after one of the bullets mistakenly pierced through his heart in northeast Delhi's Khajuri Khas area, police said today.

The deceased identified as Manoj was allegedly a drug supplier, the police said. The two shooters hired by him shot at him yesterday, but one bullet that was supposed to be fired at his hand was accidentally fired at his chest, they added.

He was rushed to a hospital by one Anil, who claimed to be his friend.

Manoj was declared brought dead, the police said.

Anil was arrested by the police and search for the two shooters were on. It is suspected that Manoj's estranged wife was also aware of the conspiracy and police are examining her role in the incident.
