Mumbai, July 30: On Sunday, a leopard attacked a Rottweiler in Mulund West, the area lies within the National Park's boundary, according to a report on Times of India. Hearing the poor animal bark, the owner came to the rescue, and in turn got attacked by the leopard too, suffering from injuries on his face, and scalp. This year, it is the second incident of a leopard attack on human life.

The victim Suraj Gawai was first taken to a hospital in Mulund, but looking at his injuries that are deep, he was shifted to KEM, Parel. The Rottweiler who was severely attacked was taken to an animal care centre in Mulund. The site of the attack- Rahul Nagar is one of the two shanty towns within the national park, the other being Amar Nagar.

In a similar incident that took place in January, a leopard attacked Nanipada, another residential area in Mulund, and injured six people. Reportedly the attacks had reduced post the wildlife experts working in the area started to educate the people staying there on the leopard movements and behaviour.
