The government constituted the Eighth Central Pay Commission on November 3, 2025. It is chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. The Commission’s mandate covers revision of pay, pensions, allowances and related service conditions for about 55 lakh serving central government employees and an estimated 69 lakh pensioners. Ongoing Consultation Process
