Man Held After Allegedly Burning Puppy Alive in Tandoor
Speaking about the case, Chandigarh DSP P. Abhinandan said police registered an FIR under Section 11(1)(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said investigators used CCTV footage from the area along with local intelligence inputs to identify and trace the accused.

"Upon questioning, he told us that when he was returning home that night, the mother dog started barking at him. So, he got annoyed and did this," DSP P. Abhinandan told ANI. Police said the puppy died after being thrown into the burning tandoor outside the dhaba. Officials said further investigation in the matter is ongoing.
