A 35-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband following a financial dispute in Bengaluru’s Nagasandra area, police said on Thursday, April 2. The accused, identified as Dhariyappa, has been arrested in connection with the incident, which reportedly took place inside the couple’s residence.

According to police sources from the Peenya police station, the couple had an argument over INR 2 lakh that had been set aside for household expenses. During the altercation, Dhariyappa allegedly assaulted his wife, Kavya. Police said the situation turned fatal when he reportedly stepped on her neck, causing her death. The incident occurred when the couple’s two children, a son studying in Class 10 and a daughter in junior college, were not at home, officials added.

Police confirmed that Dhariyappa remained in the house with the body for nearly two hours before informing authorities. He has since been taken into custody. “Dhariyappa has been arrested.
