A 30-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district allegedly died by suicide after his wife reportedly returned to live with her former husband, police said on Thursday. The incident has triggered allegations of harassment and blackmail from the deceased man’s family, who have demanded strict action against those involved, as reported in Dainik Jagran.

According to local reports, the deceased was found hanging at his residence in the district. Family members alleged that he had been under severe mental stress following disputes involving his wife, her former husband and a marriage mediator. Lucknow Shocker: Ayodhya BJP Youth Leader Shivam Singh Killed in Uttar Pradesh After Dispute Over Cigarette.

Family Accuses Wife, Former Husband and Mediator

Relatives of the deceased claimed that his wife had recently left him and returned to her former husband, leading to ongoing tension within the family. They further alleged that the man faced mental harassment and pressure in the days leading up to his death.

The family has accused the woman, her former husband and the mediator who allegedly arranged the marriage of threatening and blackmailing the deceased. They have urged police to register a case and conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suicide. Uttar Pradesh Shocker: Teacher Dies by Suicide in Ballia Due to Financial Pressure for Sister’s Wedding.

Police officials said an inquiry has been initiated and statements from family members are being recorded. The body was sent for post-mortem examination after preliminary investigation at the scene.

Previous Marital Dispute Came to Light Earlier

The case has also drawn attention because the deceased had reportedly approached authorities earlier regarding disputes with his wife. According to earlier reports, the man had claimed he feared for his safety after allegedly discovering suspicious messages and references on his wife’s mobile phone linked to violent crime stories circulating online.

At the time, he had reportedly allowed his wife to leave and stay with another man following repeated disputes. The incident had gained attention on social media due to references made to the widely discussed “blue drum” murder case from Meerut earlier this year.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have not yet confirmed whether any suicide note was recovered from the spot. Officials said all allegations made by the deceased man’s family are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are also verifying claims related to harassment, threats and blackmail to determine whether any criminal charges related to abetment of suicide may apply in the case.

Growing Concern Over Mental Health and Domestic Disputes

The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over mental health issues linked to domestic disputes and marital conflict. Several recent cases across the country involving family disputes, allegations of harassment and suicides have sparked public debate on emotional stress, legal processes and support systems available to individuals facing personal crises.

Police said further action in the Bulandshahr case will depend on the findings of the investigation and post-mortem report.
