Commercial LPG Price Slashed to INR 2,930 in Delhi: Check New July 1 Rates Across Major Cities
Oil marketing companies slashed 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder prices by up to INR 183.50, effective July 1. The move brings relief to restaurants and hotels after five straight months of rate hikes. Commercial rates dropped to INR 2,930 in Delhi and INR 2,885.50 in Mumbai, while domestic 14.2-kg cylinder prices remain completely unchanged.
State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder by up to INR 183.50. The price revision, which takes effect today, July 1, marks the very first reduction in commercial cooking gas rates this year. The decision provides much-needed operational relief to restaurants, dhabas, hotels, and other commercial entities across the food and beverage industry after a series of successive price hikes over the past several months.
Relief for the Hospitality Sector
The significant price slash is expected to directly lower overhead costs for commercial establishments that rely heavily on bulk cooking gas. Before this cut, small businesses and hoteliers faced compounding financial strain as OMCs increased commercial LPG rates five times consecutively between March and June. Global Crude Factors and Domestic Impact
Industry analysts attribute the price cooling to a softening trend in international energy markets. Global crude oil prices dropped notably following a newly brokered 60-day extension of the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran. This diplomatic breakthrough eased tensions around critical maritime trade corridors, specifically the Strait of Hormuz - which accounts for approximately 20 per cent of global oil and gas transport - subsequently stabilising global supply chains. While commercial establishments stand to benefit from today’s announcement, household budgets will see no immediate change. OMCs have left the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders completely unchanged for July 2026, maintaining current rates across all major metropolitan areas.
