The NTA published the CUET UG 2026 final answer key on June 22, marking the final stage before the declaration of results. Earlier, the agency had released the provisional answer key, question papers and recorded responses on June 9, allowing candidates to review their responses and raise objections. Following the evaluation of challenges submitted by candidates, the final answer key was prepared. Candidates should note that the CUET UG 2026 results will be calculated solely on the basis of this final answer key.

According to official data, a total of 15,68,867 unique candidates registered for CUET UG 2026, making it one of the country's largest entrance examinations for undergraduate admissions. Students appeared for a wide range of subjects offered under the examination framework. The test covered 37 subjects, including:

• 13 languages
• 23 domain-specific subjects
• One General Aptitude Test (GAT)

What Happens After Results Are Declared?

The NTA has clarified that its role is limited to conducting the examination process, hosting answer keys, inviting objections, finalising answer keys, preparing results and publishing scorecards.

According to the official document, the merit list for admissions will not be prepared by the NTA. Instead, participating universities and institutions will prepare their own merit lists based on CUET UG 2026 scores and their respective admission criteria.

Students can use their CUET UG 2026 scorecards for admissions during the 2026-27 academic cycle.

In the previous admission cycle, CUET UG results were announced on July 4 after examinations were conducted between May 13 and June 4. The final answer key for CUET UG 2025 was released on July 1, three days before the results were declared. With the final answer key for CUET UG 2026 already available, candidates are now expecting the result announcement in the coming days.
