Delhi Man Arrested for Filming TikTok Video of Him Firing in the Air From Pistol During His Birthday Celebrations

New Delhi, August 12: A 32-year-old was arrested by Delhi Police on Monday over a TikTok video of him firing in the air from a pistol during his birthday celebrations in the national capital. According to a tweet by ANI, the man identified as Faizan used a country-made pistol and made a video of it on the popular video-making app. Reports inform that Police has recovered a country-made pistol from the man. The incident came to light after the video went viral on social media. As soon as the incident was reported, Police identified the location and interrogated the man, following which he was arrested. TikTok App Banned in India for Promoting Porn and Adult Videos.

In July this year, the Government had issued notices to social media platforms Tiktok and Helo along with a set of 21 questions threatening to ban these apps if it does not receive appropriate response. According to reports, the action from Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) cam after a complaint by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh affiliate Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) to the Prime Minister, in which it alleged that the platforms are being used for anti-national activities.

TikTok is very popular among Indian users. Making TikTok videos has been on a rise and there is a separate fanbase of users who love getting publicity via such viral videos. A similar incident was reported from the national capital in April this year where a 19-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his friend as they posed with a pistol to make a video on mobile app TikTok.
