The movement is slated to involve significant numbers of participants - estimated between 70,000 and 80,000 people - alongside 100 to 200 motorbikes and more than 50 large vehicles. Traffic controls in the zone are scheduled to remain enforced during peak procession hours from 2 PM to 10 PM to facilitate smooth transit.
Route Diversions and Heavy Vehicle Restrictions
As part of the traffic management plan, specific rules govern heavy motor vehicles and commercial transit:
- The movement of heavy vehicles, except BEST buses and vehicles associated with the procession, is prohibited in both directions of the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd route.
- Heavy vehicles heading toward Vashi from Chheda Nagar Junction are being diverted via the Eastern Express Highway toward Umarshi Bappa Junction and onto V.N. Purav Marg.
- Vehicles travelling from the Sion-Panvel Road toward Ghatkopar and Vikhroli face redirection from Mankhurd T-Junction via V.N. Purav Marg toward Umarshi Bappa Junction.
