Fake Cops Gang-Rape Minor Girl Near Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir, 1 Accused Arrested After Gunfire

A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men who posed as police officers at a park near Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir, with one of the accused subsequently arrested following an exchange of fire with police. The other two suspects remain at large, and Delhi Police are investigating the incident. According to police, the incident took place on Monday evening, September 21. The girl, reported to be 17 years old, had visited Kalkaji Mandir with her 17-year-old male friend at around 7 pm.

After offering prayers, the two went to Astha Kunj Park, located near the temple and the ISKCON Temple, at around 7.30 pm. Three men, believed to be around 25 to 30 years old, allegedly approached them and claimed to be policemen. Men Allegedly Posed as Police Officers

Police said the men allegedly questioned the teenagers and threatened them by claiming to be law enforcement officers. According to the girl's statement, one of the accused restrained her friend while the others allegedly assaulted her. A PCR call concerning the incident was received at around 8.45 pm. Police reached the park and took the girl for a medical examination. Her statement was subsequently recorded as part of the investigation. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of law, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

One Accused Arrested After Exchange of Fire

Police later apprehended one of the alleged accused after a brief exchange of fire. The accused has been identified in reports as Asif and reportedly sustained a gunshot injury to his leg during the operation. He is currently in police custody, while investigators are questioning him and conducting searches for the remaining two suspects. CCTV Footage Being Examined

Delhi Police are scanning CCTV footage from Astha Kunj Park and nearby areas to establish the sequence of events and identify the other accused. Investigators are also making efforts to gather information from people who may have been present in or around the park when the incident occurred. The investigation remains underway, with police continuing efforts to trace the two suspects who have not yet been arrested.
