A 33-year-old man died in Haryana’s Faridabad after falling severely ill, following the consumption of a packaged mango beverage to break his fast, authorities said on Saturday. Local police have initiated an inquiry and are awaiting the post-mortem report to establish the exact cause of death. The deceased, identified as Ankush, a resident of the Hanuman Nagar area, was observing a fast on Thursday night. According to his family, he consumed a Frooti drink alongside other family members to break his fast before rapidly developing health complications.

Relatives reported that shortly after drinking the beverage, Ankush began vomiting intensely and complained of severe abdominal pain. As his physical condition deteriorated, his family rushed him to a nearby private healthcare facility for immediate treatment. Due to the critical nature of his symptoms, doctors at the private facility referred him to the Badshah Khan Civil Hospital in Faridabad. Medical staff there subsequently advised that he be transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for advanced clinical care. During subsequent police questioning, the family formally linked the onset of the fatal illness to the consumption of the packaged beverage. "The exact cause of death will be ascertained only after the post-mortem report is received, and further action will be taken accordingly," the police official said. Authorities have formally recorded the family's complaint, completed the required legal procedures, and handed the body back to the relatives.
