Anantnag, October 28: In another terrorist attack, an apple truck driver was killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday. This is the fourth attack on truckers transporting apples from the Kashmir Valley within two weeks. According to reports, the driver was attacked when he was loading apples into his truck in the Bijbehara area of the district. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. More details are still awaited.

On Friday, terrorists killed two non-Kashmiri truck drivers in Shopian district of the Valley. One truck driver was also injured in the attack. The terrorists reportedly stopped the three trucks bearing registration number of Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab and started indiscriminate firing at the drivers who made an unsuccessful attempt to flee the area.

On October 14 also, two terrorists, including a suspected Pakistani national, shot dead the driver of a truck having Rajasthan registration  number and assaulted an orchard owner in Shopian district. Two days later, Punjab-based apple trader Charanjeet Singh was killed, and Sanjeev injured when terrorists attacked them in Shopian district.

Earlier in the day, 19 civilians were injured after terrorists lobbed grenade near a bus stand in Sopore district of Jammu and Kashmir. Immediately after the attack, security forces have cordoned off the entire area.
