Jammu, August 8:  At least four terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla on Wednesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the operation is currently underway. Reports inform that the encounter broke out following information about the presence of militants in the area. The security forces then launched a search operation in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla district.

In a separate incident,  a militant and an over-ground worker (OGW) were arrested on Wednesday from Pulwama and Baramulla districts.  A joint party of security forces has apprehended the militant, identified as Abdul Majid Shah, from Awantipora area of Pulwama district on Tuesday.

On August 3, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Killora village of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on August 3, ANI reported. The body of one terrorist, identified as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Umar Malik, was recovered, along with an AK-47 on Friday. According to the report, the operation was called off after bodies of four more terrorists were recovered on Saturday.
