Jammu, August 19: The security forces on Sunday gunned down one terrorist in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. According to a tweet by ANI, the security forces foiled an infiltration bid in Baramulla on Sunday morning. The operation is currently underway. A defence spokesperson said an infiltration bid was foiled at Kasturi Naar area in Baramulla. More details are awaited.

On Saturday, three terrorists were killed after the Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir. According to details by police, some terrorists were trying to infiltrate from across the LoC in Tangdhar sector in Kupwara district of north Kashmir and three of them were killed. Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police (DGP) S P Vaid also confirmed the killing of militants. "Three terrorists killed by Army while infiltrating in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara today," Vaid tweeted.

In a separate incident on Saturday, a soldier was killed in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Police said an Army team was on routine patrol when the explosion occurred near the Gulab Post.

Earlier this month, security forces killed four terrorists in an encounter in Baramulla following information about the presence of militants in the area. The security forces then launched a search operation in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla district and gunned down the terrorists in the area.
