A 32-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi suffered serious injuries after jumping from a nearly 30-foot-high boundary wall at Pahuj Dam while attempting to make an Instagram reel. The man, identified as Pushpendra Kumar, reportedly expected to land in the water but instead fell on a shallow section, breaking both his legs.

The man, identified as Pushpendra Kumar, reportedly expected to land in the water but instead fell on a shallow section, breaking both his legs.
The incident happened on Sunday evening when Pushpendra had visited the dam in the Raksa area with a group of friends. His friends were reportedly recording videos when he climbed onto a boundary wall at a viewpoint and jumped into the dam.
Man Takes 30-Ft Jump For Instagram Reel
According to reports, Pushpendra, a resident of Parwai village, had gone to Pahuj Dam with several friends. While some of them were making Instagram reels, Pushpendra reportedly went towards a viewpoint on the left side of the dam.

His friends positioned themselves to record him as he climbed the boundary wall. He then jumped from a height of around 30 feet without checking the conditions below.
The stunt, however, went wrong within seconds.
Expected To Land In Water, Falls On Ground
Pushpendra reportedly believed he would land in the water after jumping from the wall. However, the section below had very little water.

A video reportedly captured the moments surrounding the incident, with one of the friends heard saying in panic, “May God rest his soul in peace.” Despite the seriousness of the accident, Pushpendra survived.
Police Rescue Injured Man From Dam
After receiving information about the accident, Grassland outpost in-charge Ranvijay Singh reached the spot with police personnel.
The police helped get the injured man out of the dam area and arranged for him to be taken for medical treatment. Pushpendra's family members also reached the hospital after learning about the accident.
Instagram Reel Stunt Turns Into Horror
The incident has once again highlighted the risks people take while attempting stunts for social media videos.
What was reportedly intended to be an Instagram reel ended with Pushpendra suffering fractures in both legs. The accident could have had fatal consequences had he landed differently.
The incident also serves as another warning against attempting dangerous stunts at dams, viewpoints and other elevated locations for the sake of social media content.
